I have been a tutor for 10 years. I tutor elementary age students in Reading, Writing, Math and ESL. I have tutored some adults. After 36 years of teaching in public elementary schools in the Houston area I have recently retired. I was a Reading and ESL specialist for the past 9 years. Before that I was a regular education teacher in grades 1-5. I also taught the Visually Impaired for 7 years. I was a Special Education Resource teacher for 7 years. I am also a trained Reading Recovery teacher with 9 years of experience. I was teacher of the year at my elementary school. I love to teach because I always learn something new from my students.

I love to read. I am a certified Master Gardener, a Master Naturalist, a volunteer with Bat Conservation International and a member of the Native Plant Society of Texas. I enjoy traveling. I have completed 5 marathons and 20 half marathons. I am trying to complete a race in all 50 states.
